How do I describe myself? Where to begin? Well, adventurous, curious, religious, committed to growth and change. Look, I realise I’m meant to put in a lot of personal salesmanship and buzz words, but that’s not really my thing. Which, I suppose, gives you a bit more insight into me. I consider myself a leader - I write and run workshops for men about masculinity, particularly Catholic manhood. I am committed to helping others, particularly in my counselling work with families and youth “in trouble”. I have always been deeply spiritual, and am probably only recently coming back to the Church after many years away exploring other paths, only to find myself back home.

I have spent many years as a singer and songwriter in various different bands, and I am also an archer and SCUBA diver, so like being out in the wild, exploring and testing myself.

I am a father of an amazing young daughter who spends her time between myself and her mother. To those for whom that’s a dealbreaker, well, I can happily live with that :-)

What else? I guess I’m a “big picture” sort of guy, not really great with small talk and frivolity. Well ... not usually, anyway.

And what am I looking for in a relationship? Well, gone are the days I must admit I wasn’t a loyal or committed partner, always looking for something and someone new. I think it took me a long time to grow up on that score. Yes, my expectations of myself and those I love are high ... another deal breaker for many, I know. Yes, I am looking for “the real thing” and am not interested anymore in playing around with anything less.

So, how would I describe myself? I love this quote from Walt Whitman, “I am large, I contain multitudes.” That probably nails it :-)
