I am tall, slim and told my eyes are my best feature. I'm smart, but not really academic. I like sports but am not a big spectator. I'd rather spend my weekends hiking with a friend or discussing the latest movie over dinner, instead of sitting on the couch watching football. I'm very social, but also appreciate quiet evenings with a good friend. My taste in T.V. runs from Cops to the Discovery & National Geographic channels. I love to dance, laugh, watch movies, kayak, ski, hike and take country drives to explore new towns. I love all kinds of music and going to concerts. I love a night of fun in the city as much as a day at the beach. I love working on cars. I love more things than I hate. Maybe the only thing I really hate is dishonesty.
I want a friend who enjoys learning new things as much as I do; someone to explore new challenges with. Maybe ballroom dancing, cooking, wine tasting, rock climbing or whatever interests you want to investigate! I'm hoping to find someone who shares enough similar interest to mine but also has her own to introduce me to. Someone who takes an interest in what is important to me, as I will be interested in what is important to her.
I'm family oriented and want a friend who is as happy sharing dinner with my family as she is having me join her family dinner.
I have a rescue dog who has problems. My friends need to be dog lovers and willing to take the time to do what it takes to befriend my dog.
I want someone who is confident, has self-respect, is honest, kind and generous... someone who is pursuing their passions, both in work and hobbies...someone who is easy to respect and someone who respects me...someone who knows how to compromise, who can be decisive but not bossy, who can follow when appropriate, without being wishy washy.

What sets me apart from the crowd? I hope my understanding, honesty, compassion and generous spirit. I've been through a lot when I was I younger. I was very hyper and have learning disabilities. I've calmed down and am no longer hyper and, while my learning disabilities have improved significantly, I still have trouble spelling and my handwriting is not a strength! Growing up, these differences often separated me from the other kids. This gave me time to reflect on what was going on around me and decide who I wanted to be. I decided I wanted to be honest, trustworthy, thoughtful, considerate and kind. While I'm far from perfect, I do strive to highlight these traits in my daily choices. Like everybody, I make mistakes. I do my best to take responsibility for them and make amends and I promise, I will never be intentionally mean. I sometimes overlook things and can be forgetful. If you're patient with me, I'll be patient with you! You will always know what I'm thinking. I've been cheated on and vow I will never be a cheater. I'm not necessarily looking for a long term committed romantic relationship. I think setting ones sights on that often leads to disappointment. Before getting involved in a serious relationship I think it is important to really take the time to get to know each other and become friends first. A good strong friendship often can evolve into a romantic relationship. When that happens...great! When it doesn't, we still have that friendship. To me, this is the safest, and most successful, attitude to bring when meeting someone new. I'm looking for someone who feels the same.

Going on an easy hike, or walk on the beach where we have a picnic. We discover that we have enough in common and are so into learning about each other that we lose track of time. When we realize it's getting late we decide to continue our conversation over an informal supper at a quiet restaurant. After dinner, we walk around the city and find a quiet spot for an after dinner drink, where we keep talking! We don't notice the night is over until the restaurant starts closing down around us!
