The word unique can be seen, by some, as a negative. Others appreciate those who are their own defined person. I certainly fit into that latter category. I’m unlike anybody you have met. I have been shaped by the many people who have come and gone in my life. I have learned quite a bit about life, the things I cherish and humor thanks to a handful of friends of family who had a strong influence on my life. My mannerisms and the way I carry myself can also be credited to them. It’s important, I think, to understand each person who is significant in our life shapes us however much and that is to be appreciated. Perhaps the most important people in my world right now are my children. While they don’t live with me full time, much of my free time is spent with them going to parks, swimming, hiking, even heading out for a day-long road trip. Personally, I also like weight-lifting, biking and being out on the river rafting or tubing. I could eat Italian, Mexican, Cajun or barbecue every day of the week and really love exploring new restaurants and trying interesting foods. This may seem ironic, but I’m second generation Irish-American and yet I’ve never been over to Ireland. Getting over there to see where my family tree originated, but also to explore the beauty of the country and meet the people, is on my bucket list. When I was working on my profile, I asked friends and family what they notice first about me. Aesthetically, they said my hair, my broad shoulders and my green eyes. Once you get to know me, they said, it’s my humor and wit that really take hold. I’d add to that that I’m a good listener, loyal and strong-willed. I’m also giving, respectful and polite.
